I get the brown screen that states "You must re-start your computer"

When I repair permissions from DU using the Tiger upgrade disk, I get the following,

Permissions should be repaired from the internal boot disk, not from the install CD/DVD. That may eliminate some of those messages.


Instead of repairing permissions from the install CD/DVD, try "repairing the disk" instead.


The "restart your computer message" is often received when there is a hardware problem. Sometimes software conflicts can also cause this. If it happens rarely, you probably don't need to worry.


Can you boot your computer? Do you get this every time you boot?
