When you're buying batteries for your MB from third party vendors, make sure the battery they're selling you has the same specs as the one you have.

Some third party vendors sells Lithium Ion batteries for MBs. Nothing wrong with them. You just won't get the same battery life as the original one.

Make sure the battery you get is Lithium Polymer.

Better yet, just get it from The Apple Store instead of getting it from other sources just to save some $$$.

From Apple Support: While the physical battery inside your MacBook or MacBook Pro may state on the underside of the battery that it is "Li-Ion", it is using the lithium polymer implementation of this technology.

You can buy five third party batteries for less than one from Apple. The only difference is the third party batteries don't have the Apple logo on them. They're the same batteries from the same manufacturers that Apple buys their batteries from.
