iCloud says username or password is incorrect

Hi - I'm getting the same symptoms, on my iPad:

Cannot Get Mail. The user name or password for "iCloud" is incorrect

Also have an authentication error on my Mac trying to get into Mail and finally the most worrying when I log into iCloud in a browser it can't load my mail. Another error message and the offer to submit a report to Apple. I can't get into my mail on any device?

Any ideas?

Mine is exactly the same, can log in to iCloud, see my contacts, 'find my phone' but mail won't work.

I am having the same problem. In California August 16, 2012. Unbelievably frustrating! I really don't want to start deleting accounts and re-adding them. I'll mess it up somehow. I just want my e-mail back...

Try to log in again. I just tried and it is working now. Must be a server issue...

Having the exact same problem. I was at the Apple store today with an iPhone issue and assumed this error message was related and now realize it's purely coincidental. Very frustrating. I'm guessing there must be a server problem right now because I can log into icloud.com and my iPhone also logs in; just mail not working.

I've just encountered it today, fine 3 hours ago, but now on Iphone, Ipad2, and iCloud using Windows7, and email via Outlook 2010, I've had to reset my passwords, but Outlook is still showing problems, syncing folders with my ID.

It looks like changing to a moderate strength password did the trick

I had this problem on my iphone 3 with incorrect username and password and hoped it would go away (my usual tecnical response) on my new 4S but it didn't and I can't figure it out. Any ideas? I'm not using cloud mail or whatever it is.

I just had this problem on my MacMail, iPhone and iPad.

Solved it by simply logging into iCloud (www.icloud.com). This seems to have "kicked" my mail into working again. 🙂

Hmm. weird. Everything back working. 40 minute outage for Mail?... I didn't change anything or do anything it just sorted itself.
