WOW! I love you! I had over 2000 pictures taking up a ton of valuable gaming space and I couldn't remove them through iTunes or Funbox, no matter what IOS file I deleted. Your method was dead on! It was such a simple fix I'm hitting myself in the head because I couldn't think of it first! Thank you so much for making my IOS life a bit easier. I owe you big time! Jonathan

Wow!!! I've been so frustrated because I couldn't download ios7 because of a ridiculously full photo library. Your instructions worked perfectly! Thank you so much.

thank you much for the help!

It saved me bunch of time to figure out how to remove photo lib from iphone.

In my case i just moved pictures from iphone to my desktop windows pc. but ios did not recogniz that library folder is empty! this was preventing upgrade ios process (not enought memory).

Hope next ios version will fix such simple bug.

    tnx again for great idea!

when you connect your phone it should show on left side under 'devices'

click on this and you should get details of your phone.

On the right of the top tool bar you should now see photos

Thanks Essex Old Boy, but still no luck. When I connect my iphone and look under Devices the reference to my iphone says "sync Lynns iphone"...It is seriously driving me nuts!!!!! I think I'll have to take my iphone and laptop in to someone to have a look at it for me before I jump on it

Are you using latest version of i-tunes - which is 11.1.3 ?

Thank you MacZombie - your solution for a Mac user is super easy - I never would have thought to manage my photos on my phone through Preview (weird, Apple designers). But it works, so again, thanks.

Glad the solution provided by Lisamhos worked for PC users - it didn't for me on my Mac, but I kept scanning down and found your solution and - voila. 100 points for you, MacZombie

This is so awsome, using this method you can  just drag and drop images to the desktop!

you can all so shoot live and they appear in the Preview import window.

    no more sync/cloud/iphot for me.

    Thanks  MacZombie!

1st time here Wanted to say Big thanks to Lisa!!

Even though your excellent and easily understood solution is posted little over a year ago, you didn't give yourself enough credit your quote  -->(and apparently has worked perfectly for over 30 others) <-- To be real its more like thousands who have been able to keep from losing there mind trying to figure out how to delete  that much hated photo library.

Well said your reply to Homer :  I probably would have told him off had i been you.. Some people just can't be Thankful.

I am still able with iOS6 to delete the photos in my photo stream the way I described above when I was using iOS5.

I  just wanted to say that I am a normal person with an iPhone and iPad  just like you all. I dont work for Apple and quite frankly dont know  much about Apple products. I was having an issue with my pics, found a  fix that worked for me (and apparently has worked perfectly for over 30  others) and wanted to "pay it forward" so others wouldnt have to  experience my frustration.

I  am sorry for those that it DIDNT work for. I wish I could help you, but  please dont send me scathing emails telling me that my fixes dont work.  . I work in Criminal Justice, not IT.

I  wish Apple would see these threads and realize that a simple  "delete/trashcan" icon would be a MIRACLE worker and not make things so  dang complicated.

Thanks Again, Even 14-15 months later your solution is still helping others. Your making us normal people look good
