I had to replace my iPad 3 within two weeks of purchasing it. I have noticed that the screen on my replacement ipad 3 seems to feel gritty or filled with micro-bumps. Yes, I have cleaned the screen multiple times. I hope I am not the only one because I am not sure if Apple will replace it for this reason alone.

Did you remove the clear protective plastic film that covers the screen when new?

That was a bit rude, but yes, I have indeed washed my hands.
And to you, I am not a moron. The plastic sheet was removed upon purchase by the apple techs. I have my iPad 2 right next to me and the glass is very smooth. However, I have noticed the iPad 3 screen feels like it has very tiny bumps on the screen. This the second one I have gotten since my puppy cracked the first one. I will simply just check with Apple. I had hoped someone else had noticed this; alas, I was wrong.
There is no gritty feel to my iPad screen. There really shouldn't be on your screen either. When you say you've cleaned it, there are clearners made for iPhone/iPad screens. I use iClean a Monster cleaning product. You might want to give that a try. If it doesn't work, and you know your screen doesn't feel right, take it to Apple.
