I am trying to email a photo through iphoto, I get all the way to the send button, after I click send, an error window opens with no message so I have no idea why the action is not successfully completing. This happens everytime I try to email a photo. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home(
)/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - reboot.
4 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

I had the same problem.
Take a careful look at your settings for the email address in preferences. In my case, even though I used the gmail settings for creating the account, it did not put in an SMTP server in the settings. If you are using a gmail account or google apps, the SMTP server is smtp.gmail.com
Old Toad's answer isn't going to help.
It's always lovely when someone resorts a thread from more than two years ago and then provides an answer that didn't apply then but might now, and then announces that someone else's work won't help. Well it did then and will now, except in some cases with gmail.
