After sending a text message,my phone just went blank, no matter what I tried nothing worked. Won't connect to itunes and the Hard Reset doesn't seem to work. Can anyone think of anything else to try

Tried all that and it brought me here.
:Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

I am having the exact same problem Mine is a iphone 4 ...I've tried everything and all I get is the apple logo...Can't turn if off. I have restored it as a new phone and itunes recognizes it but it won't sync it properly...stops syncing half way through.
First you should try all the reset method here: iPhone 4: How to Hard Reset on iPhone With Picture and Video.
If it still doesn't work then you should try the restore method. But the restore method will cause you to lose all the data. Great article from Apple support here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414.
