Just installed OSX 10.6.8 and Can't Buy from App Store

I have installed Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and ran Software Update, and now I want to upgrade to Lion. I can open App Store, log in, access my account, but when I try to purchase Lion I get a message "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (4)". When I click OK, I get the message "Unknown Error." I really don't want to have to reinstall everything - please give me an idea of what's going on. Thanks. By the way, I also created a new Apple ID with a different email just to see and I get the same error.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 2.66 GHZ, Intel Core Duo, 2GB RAM

From your profile information you have a Core Duo iMac. Lion requires a Core 2 Duo or better. If your profile is correct you cannot install Lion.

Sorry, didn't read it right - I have a Core 2 Duo. Thanks.

One more thing - I am able to download and install a free app. I noticed that when I try to buy Lion it asks me to log in again with the username attgeek@gmail.com. Of course I put in my own Apple ID, but that's just weird.

Have you tried logging out of the App Store, then signing in again using the Apple ID you normally use?

Hi Kappy,

I have quit the App Store, re-launched, logged out, logged back in, created a new Apple ID, restarted. I even said a couple of Hail Marys. No dice. Update - I just went and bought something else from the App Store and it worked GREAT. So now what?
