Can I schedule appointments from the contact manager?

I feel like I should be able to schedule meetings and calls for specific contacts from the contact information screen. No button is present for his on my screen. I want to be able to look up "Bill Smith" and see his information and then schedule a call or meeting with him from that screen.

Is this possible? I can't see an easy way to do this.

Please help!
