HT1274 only got my iMac today, already it does not recognise my password, how can I reset it? do not have any DVD or CD

Can any one help please, just purchased my imac today, switch on and followed the setup, it wanted a password so I put one in. Now it keeps saying wrong password, but I know it is the right, and only one I use? I do not have a DVD or CD, How can I re-set my password? This is my first day on a Mac
