Sep 17, 2012 8:30 PM in response to appleuser2012by Jon Goings,That link explains how to change the waiting time before the light dims.
Decrease the brightness with the f5 key, and increase with f6; from full-off to full-on.

I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link. <Edited by Host>

Mar 14, 2014 2:39 AM in response to appleuser2012by jeffg62,I don't understand why nobody wants to also add that you must simultaniously press the fn key while pressing the F5 and F6 keys. Not everyone will no that.

Mar 15, 2014 2:11 AM in response to jeffg62by emilyivory,I don't have to press the function key while pressing F5 or F6. In fact, if I press the function key at the same time as F5 or F6 it doesn't do anything on my Macbook Air.

Jul 15, 2015 11:21 PM in response to jeffg62by Declan the Jolteon,For Macbook Pros, the FN key is not required to be simeotaneously held down while pressing F5 / F6. The FN key is only there for games / programs that would use it for special purposes (Such as Steam using F12 (FN + F12) for screenshots, or Minecraft using F3 (FN + F3) to show the Developer GUI).
If you have to use FN and F5 / F6 combined, then check if you have FN + Special keys unchecked in your settings by going to Keyboard > uncheck "Use F1, F12, etc keys as standard keys"
