Files remain after "erasing" disk iMac 10.6.x. I'm trying to reinstall leopard and for some reason 2 folders and 2 files (totaling 90mb) were left on. I'm thinking this is just preprogrammed files for my HD but just want to make sure this is the case and not some lingering 'infected' files.

Why do you believe they were "left on?" Did you erase the drive with Disk Utility? If so, then what you see is what is installed by DU for the drive's new directory.
If you erased the drive, those were added to it afterwards instead of being left over. The Finder and other applications may create files as part of its normal access to a drive.
