Did you let the iPod dry out in a sealed container of uncooked rice or desiccant for at least a week? If not, you likely did not giver the iPod a chance to dry out and the water that seeped into the insides has fried the iPod's circuitry or battery. You'll need to have the iPod serviced or replaced.
