Disable document reopening on application launch

Against my desires I have ugraded to Lion to keep me.com sync going. I don't like the new features at all but I can deal with most of them but the stupid reopening of the documents when I launch an application. I use to modify hundreds of different documents just once and now when I relaunch photoshop or textedit or preview I have to lose time closing every window of the old documents I opened last time. Is it possible to disable this "feature"?
