Aperture dosen't start with Snow Leopard

I just bought Aperture on the App Store. My mac is up to date and I have allready reinstall the software to make sure that it wasn't just an stupid error during the installation.

The message error is (in French) :

Impossible d'ouvrir Aperture en raison d'un problème.

Vérifiez auprès du développeur si Aperture est compatible avec cette version de Mac OS X. Vous devrez peut-être réinstaller l'application.

The message suggest that the software isn't compatible with my version of Mac OS X (Snow Leopard).

What can I do to start Aperture normally because for the moment i just pay ~80$ for nothing...

Aperture 3, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Did you look at the crash log? If the crash log mentions "PluginManager.framework" not loaded, then you need to reinstall your Operating system:

  1. Navigate to/Library/Frameworksand delete the file "PluginManager.framework".
  2. Download the MacOS Combo update for your Operating System from thehttp://support.apple.com/downloads/

and reinstall your snow leopard system.

If your crash is not related to the "PluginManager.framework" however, please post the first 50 lines of the crash report.

My crash log mentions :

Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework/Versions/B/PluginManager
Referenced from: /Applications/Aperture.app/Contents/MacOS/Aperture
Reason: no suitable image found.
Did find:
/Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework/Versions/B/PluginManager: no matching architecture in universal wrapper

So i have to reinstall my entire OS to solve this problem or just an Update ?
Can you give me the direct URL to download the Combo Update ?

Is there no risk for other software to delete the PluginManager.framework ?

Thank you for your help !

If you have a TimeMachine update from before the problen happened, you can simply restore this Framework from your backup:

/Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework

Otherwise reinstalling the System will fix it.

To reinstall use:

Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1

Is there no risk for other software to delete the PluginManager.framework ?

I don't know which application that you installed caused the corruption of your library.

Maybe that applcication - or plug-in will have problem. In most cases it has been an unstallation of Final Cut X, and that had no problems after the Library had been repaired.
