An alternate to setting the internal and external cell borders to "none" is to set their colour to match the white background. The effects of the two choices are slightly different:
Here the middle table, Data, shows the original format. (I use a slightly darker grey that the default for tables posted here to make the individual columns and rows more visible.)
Data-1, on the left, is a duplicate of Data, and has had the stroke set to 'none' as suggested in Wayne's post above. Two things to note: There's still a visible vestige of the cell boundaries, and each cell has decreased in height (and width) by the thickness of the original 'thin' border (note the relative vertical locations of "Jenn" in the two tables).
Sorter, to the right of Data, also started as a duplicate of the Data table. Here, the table was selected and the Stroke colour was set to white. The cell borders maintain the same thickness as before, so rows further down the table are not shifted upward ("Henry" remains at the same vertical position as "Jenn"), and the borders, sharing the same colour as the background, become invisible.
Regards,
Barry
PS: While I can see a single grey line running horizontally under all three tables, this appears to be an artifact of the screen shot. It's not visible on the original document.

shedpackers,
Numbers is a What You See Is What You Get application. To not Print grid lines, you must set your table to not have visible grid lines. If you want both, lines on the sheet while you're working and no lines when you print, you can copy the Sheet with the content you wish to print and do your line elimination on the new copy.
I have found the fastest way to eliminate all lines in a table is to click on the table name in the Sheets Pane and set Stroke to None in the Graphics Inspector.
