Q: SD card in CD slot

I inadvertantly slipped an SD card into the CD/DVD drive slot.  Can't see it but it's close to the slot, maybe dropped a little.  Anyideas beside taking it in to a service center?

Gently use an unbent paper clip - into a L sort of shape - and "fish" it out.  Will take a few goes - GENTLY does it.  I've done this twice now - and wish the SD slot wasn't so close to the CD slot!!

    Hi all

I used a pice of card from a cereal box double thickness and taped together, cut it into a long "L" shape and used that to fish it out.  I thought cardboard would do less damage than a metal paper clip.

Apple needs to separate these slots to prevent this happening to so many people!

I did the same thing twice in the same night!  Trying to download movies onto the sd card from my iMac.  The paperclip worked.  Put the iMac on its side and used an L shaped paperclip.   I had two sd cards in the optical drive and CDs would still load!  the first sd card came out pretty quickly.  the second one was harder.  Turned the iMac over and back and finally got the second one out.  Thank you for the paperclip trick.  I hope I'm smart enough to keep my sd cards out of the cd player in the future.

Glad this worked for you.  All I had to do was unplug everything, let it cool down, turn it on its side a give it a gentle shake. The SD card simply fell out.

    This is what helped me:

I googelt for a YouTube Video and found a really good one!!!

They took a piece of cardboard and cut out a square in the size of a SD card. Inserted the card board on top of the CD slot, went down and pushed out the SD card from the back to the front. Really easy!!!

I hope this helped! Well, it did for me!
