Here's a link to a different type of Flash player, it's a plug-in that Safari prompted me to use when I was tring to play movies via Netflix in Safari. For some reson, I have no idea why, It wouldn't work with Abobe Flash. Give it a try maybe it will help.

Load your Facebook Page from another Device or Os windows or something else , Then Go to Your Acount setting -- security -- Uncheck Https connection
Facebook is being very slow to load for me, too. It's been like this for several days.
The problem is with Facebook's servers, not your Mac.
I get the same problem now in the past month I haven't been able to even go to facebook. Now I know APPLE has abandoned everyone below 10.6 OS to get consumers to get the lastest software. I even noticed issues with Twitter in safari 5.0.6. I'm going to update my OS next week after some much need cleaning and I only hope that helps.
Are you on safari6 or Safari5 - ?
The problem started here a few days after the upgrade to Safari6. All other browsers work as usual.
When i turn off Secure browsing - safari works as normal, again. So it seems to have something to do with the ssl through safari. One could start to suspect there are some problems on the secure server at FB, especially when pictures, columns etc seems stuch, while text comes over faster. But then it is strange that Chrome and Firefox handles this without problems?
I have also cleaned all cashes, Safari cleanup, reinstalled java/javascripts etc, but without improvement.
Clues, anyone?
Morten
Hi This issue seems to be more common than expected.
iMac 2010 21in OSX 10.8.2 16g ram.
Router connected via ethernet and iMac wireless turned off.
Speedtest 115mbs download and 2.1mbs up.
All running well until Safari spat dummy, and decided to not load certain pages. Facebook, ebay, Apple and smh.com.au all time out. Other pages eg google load fine however when I tried to download Firefox via google it timed out. Firefox installed via USB but same issue noted.
No success as yet but this is what I have tried so far....
Reboot router and computer several times.
Cleared cache and reset safari
Ran Onyx and reboot
Restored to an earlier time machine image.
Successfully disabled ipv6 via terminal commands
Anything else to try that you may suggest?
I'm running into this problem as well will all browsers - I installed Java 7 but no luck at all.
Mac OS 10.8.3
I know this is an old post, but my wife has been having the same problem on her Macbook Air (Mid 2013), whilst I've had exactly the same Macbook Air too, but with no problems, totally frustrating!
Today, we logged her out of her FB account on her MBA, and I logged in and the page loaded totally fine. My wife then logged back into her own account, and the problem was solved!
She had tried all the stuff already suggested numerous times, e.g. clearing cache, cookies, etc. but none worked.
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Safari is kind of beat! I won't load Facebook the past few days. Also, for the longest time, when I try to watch a movie on Netflix, it says, "Whoops, something went wrong... There appears to be a display problem. Please ensure your monitor is HDCP compliant and is not mirrored using Airplay."
OK, so I'm not HDCP compliant (or am I)? I've been running an HDMI cable from computer to TV for years now.
Now, looking up HDCP compliancy it says:
There is a licensing body that issues licenses for HDCP devices. Each HDCP compliant device, like your Blu-ray player or Xbox, has a license and the ability to talk to the device it is outputting the signal to over the HDMI cable.
I may be wrong, but I think that means I haven't bought an Apple TV yet?
I use to go to (in Safari):
Develop menu>User Agent>Google Chrome-Mac but that no longer works.
(To display the Develop Menu in Safari
Launch Safari, located at /Applications/Safari.
Open Safari's Preferences by selecting 'Safari, Preferences' from the menu.
Click the 'Advanced' tab.
Place a check mark next to 'Show Develop menu in menu bar.')
Granted, Safari is my favorite looking browser, the most Mac-like, however . . .
ALL OF THE ABOVE WORKS FINE W/THE GOOGLE CHROME BROWSER!

Safari should take a nod from Google Chrome. it works flawlessly. Some browsers tell you what to download in order for something to work. Like Apple, Safari (developed by Apple) leaves us fewer and fewer choices and isn't listening to it's user base very well.
If you move a Folder in Bookmarks in Safari, you can't move it without it sliding into another Folder!!! Who vets these things?
This is a simple function, but important and it hasn't been repaired for a year.
