Jun 8, 2012 5:05 PM in response to lordfox8by Shootist007,Bad DVD or the drive has failed. You could try a CD/DVD head cleaner.
EDIT:
Or that version of Snow Leopard is to old for your model Mac. Do you have the original system discs?

Jun 8, 2012 5:51 PM in response to lordfox8by Grant Bennet-Alder,As Shootist007 has noted, It is possible if this is a "Full Retail" DVD, rather than the one that shipped with your MacBook, that you need an ever-so-slightly later version than is available on the DVD. This table shows that 10.6.3 was the original build, but it could be a "customized" version so that the standard 10.6.3 will not install:
MacBook Date introduced
Original Mac OS X included
(see Tips 1 and 3)Later Mac OS X included
(see Tip 1)Mac OS X Build(s)
(see Tip 2)MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010) May 2010 10.6.3 10.6.4, 10.7.2 10D2162, 10F2108, 11C74 MacBook (13-inch, Late 2009) Oct 2009 10.6 10.6.1 10A2047, 10A2062, 10F2108 --from:

Yes, but may require you to use the Option key at Startup rather than the C key.
