I just updated my MacBook Pro with OS X Snow Leopard.  How can I play my video AVI files on Quick player?

Avi's should play directly in QT.   Are they not?  Where did they come from?

You could just avoid using QT and use vlc instead.

For QT Perian adds a more general codec for handling other video formats and Flip4Mac can be added to handle wmv files.

Try installing Perian. Nothing is guaranteed to work with all AVIs.
