Not sure I'm clear on your question. Are you saying that your contacts are in Address Book on your mac and you are trying to transfer them to a 1st generation iPhone but they won't sync?

Yes, all of my contacts are in my Address Book on my mac but will not show up in iTunes to allow me to sync them to my iPhone.

I'm not sure this will work on the original iPhone but you can try this:
- Open Address Book on your mac, click on any single contact to select it, go to Edit>Select All (Command-A) to select all contacts
- Got to File>Export>Export vCard, save this file on your desktop
- Send an email to yourself with this file attached
- Open the email on your iPhone and tap the attachment to import the contacts
(This will work with newer iPhones; not sure if it will work with the 1st generation iPhone but worth a try.)
