Synching without it deleting images from either of my devices?

To free up space, I have been deleting lots of photos and videos from both my 4S and iPhoto since my last synch. Some photos deleted from my 4S are still in iPhoto and some deleted from iPhoto are still on my 4S.

What is the best way to proceed with my next synch so it does not delete anything automatically from one device or the other?

Thanks.

When you sync, it won't delete anything. The photos that are only in iPhoto will be synced into your iPhone and the photos that are in your iPhone will be added to iPhoto library, but do this before sync:

1. Connect your iPhone and open iPhoto.

2. Select your device, and import all the photos that are only in it
