Failure to Retore

I am trying to restore my 13" macbook/pro (2008-2009 model), i have the correct restore media disks which where issued when i oringaly bought the macbook, and have restored this macbook in the past, but when i go to restore it this time, once ive booted from the cd and selected a language a message pops up

stating that Mac OS X cannot be installed and gives me the options to restart.

Through the installer programme i have checked the status of the hard drive and found some errors in the hard drive and repaired these, and i have also

erased the hard drive as i wanted to format it orginally when i reinstalled the OS X and still no joy

any suggestions would me much appreciated

thanks

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

would it work effectively if i replaced the hard drive, so killing two birds with one stone, therefore gaining more hard drive space and fixing the problem?????
