What is the normal time of boot up and shutdown?

Can anyone please tell me a normal time (secs) of a boot up and shutdown on a MBA?

Woolie I'm noticing the same things after upgrading to mavericks. Mid 2013 MBA 4GB ram and 256 GB. From when i push the power button to when the login page comes up (password) it takes roughly 12-13 seconds. The graphics of the apple logo lifting up to reveal the login page is also choppy. If no login page is there it takes roughly 14-16 seconds. Very disappointed d/t the fact that ML was much faster. With shutdowns, it really all depends. Sometimes it's fast other times it painfully slow.

I keep confusing you with Klaus because you both use kitty kat avatars. 😊

Before Mavericks I got about 22 seconds to boot on new 2013 Air and about (average) 6 seconds to power off.

Now, boot time on Mavericks is just UNDER 8 seconds (wow), and power down averages (obviously depending all that needed to be shut down) about 5 seconds.

What is the normal time of boot up and shutdown?
