DVD player plays 4:3 but edited in 16:9

Hi,

I've edited a dvd in iDVD in 16:9 format. The preview in iDVD shows correct 16:9. But when i burn this to dvd and play on my Sony DVD player, it plays cropped to 4:3.

Any help is apprecieted.
