I use The Weather Channel all the time and love the interactive feature of moving weather, storms etc. Why can't I run the Interactive Feature with Safari? Safari just sits there and finally appologizes and tells you to restart the page. It never works you can keep restarting the page all day to no avail!

Try troubleshooting the Flash plugin ..
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin before reinstalling.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
The trouble is Safari used HTML5 to view video and The Weather Channel uses Adobe Flash. I've just resigned myself to the fact that I'll just have to use Chrome to view the Interactive part of TWC.
I'm a big MAC fan and have to use Safari in some of my dealings with Apple, maybe the two of them will figure out how to show either HTML or Adobe Flash!

I noticed this happened sometime in the last month. I think an Apple update (or a safari update) removed flash from safari. You can verify that flash is (or not) installed on Safari by going to help, and then plugins. Scroll down to see/not see flash/shockwave.
Because unlike P.C.'s and Internet Explorer Apple will try and tell you the problem is "caused" by Adobe Flash. You'll soon realise that your overpriced expensive toy aka the Macbook Pro is infact not professional and it bleeds memory to the ANY flash type player whether its Adobe's Firefox's Shockwave or even Chromes flash player, then you'll realise that unlike the older Macbooks where Adobe flash was embedded Apple have unbundled Adobe Flash and so any cries of help will be ignored (in that they can't fix it) because Adobe Flash is now classed as third party software and not supported. I first came across this problem is 2006 so nothings changed apart from the legal issue of Apple not having to do anything about it.
And the irony is that a £300 Acer with half the RAM and processor speed won't choke and freeze up and need the browser Force Quit button in a few hours when viewing lots of (non html 5) flash based web sties (my Macbook Amateur has 4 gb).
Nice slick move Apple.
