I see a $1 charge but I didnt have any purchases on that day - is this a random charge that appears periodically when I change credit cards on file with the account?

When a new credit card is on file, Apple takes out $0.99 for the sole purpose of verifying the account. This charge will be removed after they have verified that charges can successfully go through.

hi there i have tis same $1 charge showing on my bank transactions however i have never purchased anything from apple. i have changed my security settings will this fix the problem and how the heck do i report this to apple frauds department? Ive been searching for a solution since i first noticed the charge. I do not want this to continue.

I've been having a similar problem. I have an Apple Music account, so at the start of each month I'm charged $10, but for the past three months my bank statements have a random $1 charge about halfway through the month (on the 14th, 15th, or 16th). I ignored it the first couple times because it was only a dollar, but I don't want this to continue without knowing what it's for.

Also, I haven't changed my card on file at all, though I did use a gift card to pay for my account majority of this past year. Would that be a cause for the charge?

Can anyone shed light on what this dollar charge could be?

Have you added or changed payment or address details on an iTunes account : About payment card authorization holds in the iTunes Store - Apple Support ? If not, and if nothing shows on your iTunes account's purchase history, contact the card issuer

Have you looked at your account(s) purchase history : See your purchase history in the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support ?

And have you made any changes to the card (e.g. adding the card's security code) or address on the account ? If they are temporary store holding charges they should be removed by the card issuer, or have a corresponding credit

The length of time an Authorization Hold will remain on an account is up to the Financial institution. It may come off the same night, or it may be out there for 3 days, depending on the circumstances and reason for the hold. The funds are not removed from or charged against the account. It is only a hold, not an actual transaction.

The 1$ charge is to verify he authenticity of the credit card. It will be refunded to your card.

doesn't make sense to have the same charge for two days running, though. Nor have I changed cards recently
