Since downloading Lion osx recently, my fan runs all the time, even if I have few programs running. This didn't happen before with snow leopard. How can I fix this problem?

Turns out it was something else. I went to Utilities>Activity Monitor and then checked which process was using up so much of the CPU. Turned out to be "wine". When I quit that process, things returned to normal.
Thanks for that tip. My fan has been running for weeks and it turned out to be some Adobe app running @ 85%. Lame. It's cooled off now tho.
thank you so much! my fan had been running for days nonstop and as soon as i quit the print process which was at 50% it immediately turned the fan off.
This was a really useful post. I found some software running at 50% once stopped the fan stopped.. Thanks...
This helped me as well. I found an add-in to Chrome was running (somehow at 400%+ which should be impossible). Once I cancelled this the fan slowed and then stopped.
