Pages is the word processing app and Keynote is the presentation app. That is the difference. What do you want to know - alternative apps???
Documents to Go Premium, Quick Office Pro .... and others are available in the app store.
You will want both + Numbers then for your needs.
Keynote is for presentations. Pages is a word processor.
