I recently purchased the Logitech S 530 wireless keyboard and laser mouse combination for the MAC and like it a lot. However, can't figure out how to program the mouse to navigate between web pages using the side buttons. Does fine within applications but I can't make the forward/backward side buttons navigate web pages. Anyone else experience this or have a solution. I certainly can't find one in the supplied 'Logitech control center' software or...from Logitech support. Thanks in advance.

Are you using Firefox or Camino web browsers? If so, you need to program them with the instructions here. Also, be sure that you have the latest drivers from here.
Thanks Eric for your reply, but I only use the AOL and Safari browsers. I checked the Logitech site and I have the latest version of the 'Control Center' software, ver 1.6.2. Of course none of the directions for the 'setpoint' software work on the S 530 mouse. Still waiting for a senseable response from Logitech since they referred me to the 'setpoint' software as well.
There is always USB Overdrive. It is a utility that makes a lot of mice and KBs "Mac-friendly" although I am surprised that the Logitech drive doesn't do it by itself.
Mine arrive last nite too, and I am having similiar issues. The only hotkeys that seem to work are the power key on the keyboard and the foward-back buttons on the mouse(it works fine in camino). and when I reboot it seems to lose connection and I'll loose the click until I manually press the connect buttons on the receiver and devices. Still no solution yet.
I don't have the disconnect problem you stated and all the buttons on my mouse and keyboard (except the ones targeted to 'Tiger' work fine. Are you manually shutting off your mouse and keyboard (holding the red 'connect' button down for a few seconds? I don't touch those buttons because the mouse and keyboard shut themselves down after non-use for awhile. They wake up when touched.
I'm still pursuing my web navigation problem with Logitech. My last response as of yesterday referred me to the Logic Control Center for the setup and to try all the choices and see if any solved the problem. None did. I informed them about this and am awaiting further instructions. I'll post it here with the results. They need to learn that us 'Apple' crowd are persistant.
Well I got mine to work. I didn't think it would work because what I did I had tried before but that was after I uninstalled all drivers and reinstalled the LCC. So yeah, I made sure to uninstall my old microsoft wireless keyboard drivers, install the LCC and then repair permissions.
