Adding HP 6840 wireless printer to network

I moved and in my new location I cannot figure out/remember how to add my HP 6840 wireless printer to the network. I think the last time I added it was under Snow Leopard, and when I upgraded to Lion the settings were kept.

The problem, at least at the step I'm at now, is that the "HP Deskjet 6800 installer" no longer runs under 10.7 and it was through that installer that I was originally able to access wireless settings for the printer. For example, I'm sure that the printer needs the wireless password in order to connect to the network.

In this Apple support article "How to connect a wireless-capable printer to your AirPort network" there is an explanation of how to add a printer as a wireless client using Airport Utility, but the process is for 10.6 and the option to add wireless clients doesn't seem to be in the version of airport utility under 10.7. So does anyone know how to currently access the "Wireless Client Setup Assistant"?

Suggest that you download and install the full feature version of AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion

The instructions in 10.6.x will work just fine using 10.7.x if you use this version of the utility.

You can keep both AirPort Utility 5.6 and 6.0 on your Mac and use the one that you wish. Since 5.6 will configure all Apple devices...and 6.0 won't, you might want to concentrate on using 5.6.

5.6 is in no way a "downgrade", by the way. It was available on the same day that AirPort Utility 6.0 was made available. The higher 6.0 number designates a new "look", which unfortunately has dropped a number of features, as you have learned.

It's not possible to install the 5.6 version on Mountain Lion though.

You can, if you use a utility like Pacifist to manually extract the application from the download package and then move it to your Utilities folder. More details here:

Of course, this is not officialy supported by Apple.
