Hey Haley,

Apple was able to fix my problem. I just emailed them explaining the situtation I was having. They were able to reset my apple id and they reset my password with a temporary password. I'm able to access my account and update my apps. Here is the link http://www.apple.com/support/contact/

My only issue is that everytime I try and change the password it tells me the information is incorrect. Hopefully that won't happen to you. I hope I was able to provide some useful information. 🙂

-Best regards

Aishe

I just had a similar problem on my (new) iPad. When entering password in App Store, it said the password was incorrect. I was certain I had entered the password correctly.

I logged out of AppleID from SETTINGS -> APP STORE and restarted the iPad. I then logged back into my Apple ID and it worked fine. I hope this helps anyone who has a similar problem.

Hi Haley- I have had the same problem as had several other people. I believe it was during an OS update. It's really screwy they no longer allow non email based usernames to exist. They should have just allowed us to edit our apple id/username instead of making us create a new one if we want to continue to buy and update apps, ect and use icloud. I contacted apple today. I really hope they can transfer my purchases or credit me.

This was from BitTwiddleron antoher apple thread: "I just went through the same hassle. I had an "old" version Apple ID (single word) and when I updated to the latest OS I was *required* to create a new Apple ID that was in the form of an email address. After doing so I could no longer access my purchases using the old ID because the apps now *require* you to login with an email-based Apple ID.

What I did was contact Apple support and they were able to move my purchases over to the email-based Apple ID."
