Portable Home Directory Question

Setup:

Lion Server bound to Active Directory

Portable Home Directiories hosted on Windows Server

Questions:

The PHD creates but the files are hidden on the windows server. ie: desktop, documents, etc. is this normal?

Also--

I am looking for a way of making it so users can have all their documents also available on the mac. I have folder redirection on Winodws which directs the users destop and documents to their home folder on the server. Is there a way to make it so that these files are also in the same places on the mac?
