How big is "Other"? If it is very large (e.g., 5 GB) you have memory corruption on your phone. You need to restore it as a new phone.

~1 GB is in the normal range for iOS 5. For iOS 4 it was around 0.5 GB. Memory requirements only go up. Remember when the largest program that could run on Windows was 64K?

I don't remember the largest program in windows being 64k. Perhaps you mean 640k? I do remember the maximuum program size in my TRS-80 as being 48k or 64k, though

I had a game that could actually make "beep" sounds when it was considered high end. Now a gigabyte of storage is worth about 7 cents, and its approaching the penny cost.
