How do I delete a folder action made in Automator?

I created a folder action in Automator and can't find it to edit it or delete it. I've looked everywhere I could think of and ran a spotlight search but I can't find the .workflow document. All I want to do is delete the workflow.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Take a look in your user's ~/Library/Workflows/Applications/Folder Actions folder.

I have the same question, and my Automator workflow (merging pdfs) isn't in ~/Library/Workflows/Applications/Folder Actions. That folder is empty. I'm puzzled; what's with all the mystery around Automator? Why isn't there a straightforward way to see what actions one has created, edit them, delete them, etc?

Yes but then how come this folder is empty? My "merging pdfs" workflow is in my right-click menu, under services. But the folder is blank. I gave no special instructions on where to save the automation I created; had I known it would vanish in this way I would have done so.

It could be that you're looking for a folder that is usually hidden and you're looking in the wrong location because of this. Are you looking in the Library folder from your Macintosh HD? If so, that's the wrong Library folder. You usually can't see your user's Library folder or it's contents.

To show hidden files on OS X Mountain Lion, just open Terminal and copy (not sure if this is the same for Lion but you can give it a try):

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE && killall Finder

You should be able to see the hidden folder now. Click on your username in finder and then Library/Workflows/Applications/Folder Actions

When you want to hide hidden files again, just type the same command, but change TRUE with FALSE

In the Library, look for the Scripts folder, which should contain a folder called "Folder Actions". Inside, there are various scripts you can run. I chose the "Remove Folder Actions.scpt" and options popped up for selecting a folder and the associated workflow to remove. I had been converting screenshots to jpg, but didn't need to anymore.

/Library/Scripts/Folder Actions/

Hope this helps 🙂. I'm running Mavericks - 10.9.1User uploaded file
