Do you think the $2799 Macbook Pro Retina will sell out quickly?
I need the high-end model for school. Just wondering if you guys think it'll sell like hotcakes the day it's launched. Thoughts?

Forgot to mention I was talking about in-store sales.
Yes. You probably won't see many, in stores for a little while. Some people were saying that ship dates for online orders were already into Mid-July. Also, the ones in stores will probably be the base model retina-mac, not the highest-end one.
They have 2 over the retina. The $2199 and the $2799. They should be carrying both, just not configured. Don't you think?
Yes, but most stores will carry more stock of the cheaper one, then have maybe a few, if any, of the more expensive on hand. For example, best buy stocks the crap out of the 13" base model MBP, but doesn't keep nearly as many of the upgraded model.
With the limited stock that's going to be available at launch, it wouldn't suprise me if stores didn't have the more expensive model at all yet.
I hope they don't take a long time to launch. They should have had them ready by tomorrow.
Agreed. Who knows for sure though, they may have plenty in stock when you go. That'd be a nice suprise.
Yes it would. My store on the phone said they'd be displayed tomorrow morning (could that mean available as well?) but when I went there they said 2-3 weeks. I don't know what to believe.
believe the latter, then add a week to that. 🙂
