I have the newest MBP and I just bought the Belkin Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and I cannot get the sound to go through my tv. I have already selected the HDMI as my sound output, and my tv is fairly new so that can't be the problem. Does anyone have a solution for me?

I have searched through every single forum I could. Every one just tells you to make sure that the hdmi is selected as the audio output, which for me it is. None of them say anything else. Do you have any other possible solutions?
You stated in your post that your "tv is fairly new." Have you read your tv user manual - the troubleshooting section or the "how to connect to computer" section? The newer tv user manuals have this information.
Another resource is to check YouTube's "how to" tutorials.
I will have to find the manual for the tv. But I'm still confused why this won't work. My friend brought over his PC and the sound ran through the tv. But when I use my mac, there is NONE. I checked the cord that I bought and it said that it supports sound as well as display.
