Unable to find driver for this platform \ ACPI\

I clicked on software update today and learned that there were updates that needed to be installed. I clicked on update and after some twenty minutes, it's asked to restart to install the updates. When it was done, I got this message on the screen UNABLE TO FIND DRIVER FOR THIS PLATFORM ACPI. YOU NEED TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON UNTIL IT TURNS OFF, THEN PRESS THE POWER BUTTON AGAIN.

I did this but it comes back to the same screen.

Help me please.

Ok I could reboot by holding alt key for less than min after pressing the power, got 4 options : one of them is reinstall IOS Lion, selected it. The problem than it said my machine wasn't connected to the wifi.

I couldn't find my wifi name in the network list.

And I don't have a mother MacBook to do the other solution. What should I do now ? I need my MacBook recognizes the wifi network to download the iOS and reinstall it once more.

I'm afraid to loose my data and I don't knw wt happned to apple to let us face a problem like this.

Shouldn't apple figure out a good and quickly solution 4 this problem after this bad update !!

Pls help :/

Now I know that I shoulldn't rely on TimeMachine too.

After restore FCPX crashed with errors in the Apple AU Plugin, I needed to reregister in iTunes to be able to sync my iPad, Photoshop CS6 gives me color sync error messages and I had to reregister all Nik and OnOne plugins.... I wonder what eles doesn't work anymore.

Will there be any kind of compensation from Apple???????

Me too! Suspect that I was one of the first who made the ill fated download. Kernal Panic!, which I couldn't handle. 2.5 hours with 800 APL CARE, still no help. 1.5 hrs at the Genius Bar of my closest Apple Store took care of it. They reinstalled Lion and upgraded to 10.7.4 as it was originally and all data was saved.

You get lulled into updating as soon as it's available, because all updates for the year I've had the mid-2011 iMac had gone fine, but this was the exception. Thenceforth, I will wait a few days and check all the Apple Boards to see what is going on!
