Problem recording smart strings with autoplay

With Garageband, I fire up the smart strings instrument, set the instrument to Cinematic and set the autoplay to 3, then play a G minor chord.

When I record it to the timeline, tough, the resulting track sounds different from the autoplay play-back (it sounds much less complex). Is there a way to record exactly the auto-played pattern?
