i want to uncheck "encrypt local backup" option in itunes i.e. i don't want backup to have password. How to do this.
Help will be appreciated. and I do remember the existing backup password so that's not the problem

You need to delete all of your existing backups as well: iTunes>Preferences(under the edit menu if using Windows)>Devices.

Can you remove the check in the box labeled "Backup to this Computer"? If so, do so & then close iTunes. Restart iTunes...what happens now?
Not able to remove the check from check box... that is freezed, check the picture on the previous page.though i restarted itunes. nothing happened.
fyi: i have already reinstalled itunes once too and that also didnt changed anything
On your phone: Settings>General...is Profile listed? If so, delete any profiles shown.

There isn't an option for me to delete the profile on my phone. I don't see a red "Remove" button, only a green check mark next to a green "Verified". I still can't uncheck the encrypt local back up button. Any other suggestions?
I just had the same issue surface. I recently installed some VPN certificates and profiles. I deleted them and now I can untick the encryption.
but what happen if isn't a profile under setting>general:?
