We are attempting to connect a new iMac to a Vivitek 963HD projector. The image will not fill the screen.
We are sending 1920 x 1080 @ 60hz. Using a test generator, the screen is full. Switching to the iMac, the image shrinks to the left.
Any thoughts?

What kind of an adapter do you have the projector connected with?
Check your Displays systm preferences. Including...
Did you click Detect Displays?
Is the resolution and refresh rate correct there?
Is the Arrangment how you want it?
Are you running mirrored? If so, try disabling mirrored to see the effect.
Sorry to drag this topic out of the coffers, but I'm having the exact same issue. Full HD (1920x1080, 60Hz) signal does not fit a 16:9 screen, shrunk on the left.
Mirror mode automatically puts the iMac into 1600x900 and the projector into 800x600 resolution.
Does this mean the video card just cant handle the signal output?
I'm using an Apple Thunderbolt to VGA adapter.
