MBP Retina migration without Firewire?
Does anyone know how Migration Assistant will work without a Firewire port on the new MBP Retina?

probably with the thunderbolt-to-firewire adapter.
..also, to add to that, I'm not sure if you can directly connect two computers with thunderbolt like you can firewire, but that'd be nice. 🙂
It appears one would need to use a wireless network or an ethernet to usb adapter.

Thanks, I'll order one of those, I didn't realise you could connect Macs over ethernet for Migration Assistant.
You sure can. Just boot up in target disk mode (startup Mac and hit the "t" character before apple logo appears)
Adler that it will show up as an external drive. You need the thunderbolt cable though.
