Hope you can read English. I can read German fairly well but replying is a bit .. erm .. cumbersome! 😉

It all depends on the version of MacOSX you've got on your MBP. If it is Lion, just read this page (couldn't find the German page): http://www.apple.com/osx/recovery/

If it is Snow Leopards, follow these instructions (I found the German page! 🙂): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3910?viewlocale=de_DE

hehe, sorry for that. That surely will have diminished my chance for a positive answer 🙂

Thanks for your reply.

My MBP is 2,5 years old. Therefore I got a CD with Snow Lepoard. Now that I have been keeping my MBP software upgraded I am currently using Lion.

Everytime I start to reboot my MBP, keeping the button "C" pressed, i just get a black screen.

I tried another solution as well and put in the CD during my MBP was running already. Just in the moment I am trying to start the installation there pops up an error saying the following " You cant use this version of the application Install Mac OS X with this version of Mac OS X. You have Install Mac OS X 23.1". Hopefully you know a solution for this problem. I will be very grateful for any help!

Pressing the C-button during boot should do the trick but I'm wondering, did you put in the SL DVD *before* you rebooted the Mac? So, execute the following steps:

* Put in the SL DVD

* Restart the MBP

* Immediately when the MBP reboots, press the C key

Now the MBP will look for a bootable DVD. This should be your SL DVD. After a while you see the startup manager.

Here's a link that pretty much provides all the steps again: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-boot-snow-leopard-from-a-dvdrom.htm l

After you've installed Snow Leopard you can upgrade again to Lion. BTW, you could also create a bootable Lion DVD and simplify the whole Snow Leopard -> Lion install. Follow the instructions on the following link: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20080989-263/how-to-create-an-os-x-lion-ins tallation-disc/
