Q: why do games appear on my ipad that I havent downloaded?

My daughter has used my Apple account to download games onto her ipod, however I have noticed games appearing on my ipad that none of us have downloaded, how can this happen?

I have not heard of an app or apps spontaneously downloading from the iTunes app store especially when having to manually enter your iTunes account password is required.

If you have automatic downloads for apps enabled with your iTunes account on your iPad, the apps were downloaded on another iOS device or on a computer with access to your iTunes account.

If you think your iTunes account password has been compromised, you should change it.

    Thank you.

It is very bizarre, I have just changed my password tonight, see if that makes a difference.

How would I check for automatic downloads, it only happens with the ipad and not my iphone.

I have asked the kids several times if they have added them.  I played on the ipad last night and this morning there were 3 childrens games on there.  Obviuosly no-one else has been on it since me.

Open the Settings app and select Store. That will tell you what the automatic download settings are on the iPad.

In addition, if you have iTunes installed on a computer, you can get a detailed view of your purchase history.

    You're welcome.

On your iPhone go to Settings > Store. Automatic download options are at the top.

The same location with your iPad.

With iTunes on your computer, check this link.

The reason this happens is that your child (probably) is using your password to download these games onto his/her device, and you have "automatic downloads" switched on on your device

Some free apps dont even demand the password to download, so if you used the password once on your childs device, well....
