IPod Classic fails to restore

Seems like thousands of people have the same problem, most, like me follow all sorts of advice and get absolutely no where. Currently mine has now been reformatted to Fat32 and is seen by my PC no problem but iTunes refuses to restore. I always hated iTunes for the way it takes over my PC in the way it operates now I hate it more as it is useless at fixing what appears to be a simple problem and looking through the forum, no further help is available from Apple. This really does stink.

I have tried earlier versions of iTunes but they wont work as they say I need ver 9 or above, tried these also. Put it in to disk mode, same problem. Used another PC same problem.

Come on Apple it requires a simple piece of software to load our iPods again. Keep it away from iTunes, just a stand alone piece nothing fancy, you will then earn the respect of your many users.
