Is there a way to reset/restore iTunes to it's factory default settings?
I played around too much with the view options/columns and now I just want it back to how it was when it first came with the macbook.

How much do you want to reset it?
There are preferences files in:
/Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iApps.plist
/Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist
/Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
/Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist
What these contain are rather cryptic and I don't know how far they will go to resetting what you mention. The only other file I can think of is the main iTunes library itself (library.itl in your iTunes folder). However, if you trash that you will also be getting rid of all your music listing and playlists and essentially everything you see in the iTunes window. Yes, your music will still be around but you will have to add that again.
