Change name of calendar

I have tried to search help manual and cannot figure out to change default name of my calendar and cannot figure out where my iPad got the information.

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1.1

Clik on calendars, top left and you'll see all your calendars and edit top right. Put the name you want

I have done this over and over. I CANNOT change the name but I can change the color.

And where does my ipad get this information. It is using my initial for my first name.
