Some of the fixes include the following:

  • General fixes to Wi-Fi base station stability
  • Fixes some issues with AirPlay streaming
  • General fixes with USB interoperability including connection to external storage devices
  • Fixes some issues with NAT port mapping settings
  • Disables TKIP security with 802.11n rates per the Wi-Fi Alliance specifications

I just purchased an AE with 7.6.1 from an Apple Store on 7/9. When using a USB-attached Air Disk (multi GB transfers), the AE drops all wifi connections very hour or two. Hopefully 7.6.2 will address this. Maybe a beta would be available?

I had no such problems when using a Netgear N600 router in the same location for 2 years.

I've got problems described in my post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4231009

I did have a USB disc attached to the Extreme for a long time. I disconnected to see if it would help but no joy.

Anyone know when 7.6.2 is to be released in Europe? My new Air is getting neglected because I don't want to turn it on and have everyone lose connectivity...

7.6.2 will only run on the "new" AirPort Express at this time.

We are all users, just like you. Unfortunately, no one on a user-to-user support forum will know anything in advance about what a secretive company like Apple might do....until Apple officially announces it.

Anything that you might "hear" otherwise is going to be a rumor or speculation.

Thanks. I actually just made some progress...

I had previously added a syslog server on my network in an attempt to capture what might be happening when my network was dropping.

I hadnt had much luck pin-pointing anything of interest until today. I found this happening right when all my devices were losing connecting to my network -

It appears that the required DFS controls for these upper channels (in UK at least) are controlling things on their own (as designed to).

I have turned my 5Ghz network to a fixed lower channel so I shouldn't get these network drops.

If you don't hear from me, all went well!
