there are a couple of (not official) drivers for mac
LaCie has a USB driver for MAC which is actually working pretty good
the driver installed and the lacie expresscard usb 3 tested on both lion and snow leopard using time machine.
using usb 3 lacie rugged 500gb drive portable, no ac adapter.
no connection.
but, i connect my seagate usb 2, and mac recognized it and i can transfer in usb 2 speed.
i look around on apple discussion,
