Print Speed with Xerox 7750GX

We just upgraded from Panther (10.3.9) to Tiger (10.4.3) the other day and I have noticed a marked slowdown in our print speeds. We're a design agency, so most of our printing is coming from Quark or InDesign, but the exact same files that were printing in seconds under Panther now take 1-2 minutes to print. I deleted the Xerox from my printer list and added it back in as an AppleTalk printer, through Bonjour and as an IP printer. The appleTalk is the only method that appears to work. I get postscript errors through Bonjour and Ip printing. Any ideas what could be causing the slowdown and how can I remedy the situation?
